Is anybody going to purchase this game? I think I'll be getting it at the Windsor Toys R us. They open at 11 on Sundays.

Picked up Rock Band yesterday after playing Golf. I'm loving the drums. Even attempted singing "Learn to Fly" and did better than I thought I would.

I've made it through the Easy set of 30 songs on drums and now I'm on Medium. I've completed 9 of the 63 and I'm really looking forward to the other levels of difficulty. I actually feel like I'm learning an instrument and could sit down at a drum set and actually sound like I can play the drums.

I'm holding off for guitar hero world tour. I have something against rock band for some reason....don't know why. but i'm gonna get On Tour for the DS tomorow! can't wait.

We ask for truth all the time, but when that truth threatens to tear apart the fundamental beliefs of your world, can you still accept it?

Im not a fan of the genre but if it was me personally i would go with the company that is not trying to stick it to their customers. Harmonix has made it clear that they are going to do everything in their power to ensure that purchased DLC will be compatible with future titles, and activision has made it clear that they are going to nickle and dime you as much as humanly possible. Rockband blew Guitar Hero out of the water on the 360 from what i understand. Like i said i am not a fan of the genre, just my take on what ive heard and read. I suppose because we have yet to see DLC on the wii this might not matter to some but i still have hopes that nintendo will enter this generation eventually when it comes to online capabilities.

This might sound naive, but oh well. I am not a HUGE gamer I'll admit it. So I was just wondering if someone could explain how Guitar Hero is going to work on the DS with the stylist and all. For some reason it just doesn't make sense in my mind. What-so-ever. =(

I'm waiting for World Tour. In On Tour, the touch screen is the strum and wammy bar and the frets plug into the GBA slot.

I picked up On Tour (DS) on Sunday and beat the main campaign mode on expert the day of. It took a bit of getting used to, and when I say that, I mean about a half-an-hour of controller-throwing frustration. but after that, when you get used to the new strum system and extra sensitive buttons, its a lot of fun. As for rock band vs gh4, im totally gonna get Guitar Hero World Tour just because I already have one guitar hero controller and I'm sticking with the GH brand as a whole. I've played Rock Band a bit but just cant get used to it.

I'm at the stage right now where I may just buy a 360 and Rockband.

I've played RB at my friends house and we are currently trying to finish our expert World Tour. When I told him I wanted to buy the game he told me "you might as well just come over here and play it, you can come over practically every day, besides, you'll never be able to play Metallica or Dream Theater songs on Rockband because Wii doesn't have DLC". I had to agree with him in both cases. I'm not getting RockBand. Plus from experience, the Rockband guitar is junk compared to the GH guitar. The rockband guitar's strum bar is messed un and the whammy bar is too long. The solo keys are an added bonus, but when you can't hear the strum bar, it's really difficult to keep rhythm on faster songs.

At the same time, I'm not holding out for GH4. From what I've seen and heard, you get gouged majorly for GH DLC compared to RockBand DLC. According to my friend, GH DLC costs 5$USD for a 3 song pack while RB gives you a 5 song pack for the same price. He also told me that most DLC songs on GH are by artists he's never heard of and my buddy's a big music listener, so he would seriously know, yet with Rockband, he recognized pretty much most of the song sets and told me there was Metallica, Dream Theater, Slipknot etc.

So, I'm pretty much stuck in a pickle. I guess I am gonna have to save the funds for a 360 if I want to play Rockband, or I should just go over to my friends house whenever I want to play RB.

Cheers :)

I don't know anything about Guitar Hero Tour game? This is the first I've heard of it. I play Rock Band with friends who have it on another system and really like it. But looks like I may want to wait?? I do think that the guitar playing in Guitar Hero is a bit more of a challenge, but my BIG question is: do you all think the guitar for Guitar Hero III (wii) will work with this newer version?? I know Rock Band and Guitar Hero guitars don't mix! :(

...and any news or rumors about download content for these games??
(aka new songs, etc.)
