well, in you irc client, type /servers, then click irc.freenode.net, then join it, then when you are in it, then type /join #wiiliketopodcast or /join wiiliketopodcast, depending on what client youe use.
Personally, I use chatzilla

duksandfish, what is your IRC nickname. It says that it's not duksandfish when I type "/msg duksandfish hi"

A little guide for Chatzilla:

1)Download ChatZilla for firefox (recommended)
2)Restart firefox
3)Go under tools and select ChatZilla
4)An IRC thing should pop up
5)Click on the freenode button from the list that should be there
6)A freenode tab should appear
6)Type in /join wiiliketopodcast (or join #wiiliketopodcast)in text box
7)It should connect you to the Wii Like To Podcast IRC Channel
8)Start typing to everyone that's there

Cool Commands:
Type /topic and then something to change the topic
Type /me to right in 3rd person (ex:lostman1027 is sleeping)(don't your username though)
Type /clear to clear all the text (good when it gets bulky)

How to register your IRC nickname:

1)Type in /msg nickserv register (insert a password and remove the <>s)
2)You should be registered
3)Now when you log into IRC you must type in /msg nickserv identify to login

To Auto-Login:
1)Click Chatzilla from toolbar and go to preferences
2) Go to the freenode section on the left side
3)Clic kon the Lists tab on the top
4)Go to the Auto-Perform box
5)Click add
6)Type in /msg nickserv identify
7)Click OK
8)Click OK on the bottom again
9)Restart chatzilla (close then open) to try out.
10)Enjoy you permanent username!

Automatically Open WiiLikeToPodcast at start:

1)Go to the Wii Like To Podcast IRC channel
2)Click on the IRC button on the toolbar
3)Go down to "Open This Channel At Start Up"
