I want to be a programmer when i get done with school. I wanted to know if anybody knew any good websites or books on the subject. Thanks, the help is appriciated. :P

http://www.yoyogames.com/make is a website for Game Maker 7, and it's a free download for a basic version of 8-bit games you can make, and I've made some. A college in my city just started having Video Game Making classes.

I suggest starting out with HTML (if you don't know it already) because it is pretty much the most simple coding language. Google is your friend for that.
After you might want to try tackling php or java or maybe even getting your self a trial copy of Flash ( http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/ )
to learn action script and make flash games. (newgrounds.com is a good place for flash tutorials)
I'm not really sure how you make games for consoles. I know that XNA studio is for making Xbox and Windows games (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/xna/aa937795.aspx)
