The new site is really cool :)
but it's kinda weird cuz I dont know where anything is but I have time:)

there aren't a lot of the "new" threads on the site

Over the course of this week I am going to try and get a bunch of the "new" threads copied over from the old site to the new.

oh yeah and there isn't a post count anymore and no private messaging

yeah what neder said aaand, it does not show who is on, and it does not say what threads have new posts, and in the news section, it does not give the direct option to save comment, but it only lets you preview first, then save. I noticed that badges do not display on my user thingy when i post in the forum. I noticed also that there is no comment option when viewing a podcast. i dont know if you planned to add one or not, but i think it would be useful.

PS i was wondering if you wrote all the news stories yourselves, or got them from somewhere else.

EDIT: neder, the option to send a message to another user is available to me. i dont know if its been fixed or if its a bug only you are having.

i think its different things for different people because i don't have to preview it i just save it emediately

i like the site, but it does lack some thigns (post count and pm)

for me the pm button is a little bit below the avatar spot when people post.

Ok So here's what I've done so far from the feedback in this thread.

• News comments no longer require preview before submitting
• User Badges now show in forums
• User Post counts now show in forums

As you've discovered private messaging is still there, I am going to find a better icon for it so it's easier to notice. Also once you're logged in you can access your account and messages from the user menu underneath the main menu.

To bleu: We never had comments on podcasts and never will. We want to keep those pages clean and clear, if you want to comment on the podcast please do so in the forum. Also we are getting our news directly from nintendowiifanboy.com

To Steve: Smileys are a good idea, I'll implement it sometime this week.

what i liked on the old site was when you could go into your own profile and see the topics that you most recently posted on and if they were new

i'd like to see a feature where you could have like "favorited" topics where it would notify you if there were new posts on it

arvin may be too busy doing website miricles right before our eyes? also, is this a problem that we are posting while ur updating arvin? cause we will leave if we do delay it

The ability to subscribe to content and receive updates via email is a planned feature, and something I'm working on right now. Also I will be adding the ability to flag posts that are using bad language or being inappropriate so a mod can be notified and deal with it.

As for a chat room. If there's enough genuine interest I will look into what the best option will be to integrate something into the site. But there's a lot to do and it's kind of low on my priorities right now.

As for using the site while I update. It's not a problem, and if it's a major update I will turn the site into maintenance mode and it'll kick everyone off automatically.

so will it be just via emial or can you get updates on the site?

cause i think it'll get annoying about keep getting emails from the system

i think it should be an option to recieve email updates, and it should send you "notifications" (facebook thing) on the site when your favorites have been updated.

EDIT: Well, I dont know if anyone else was getting this, but on the old site, a forum category would say "2 new posts" and when you clicked on it, it would show like 6 new posts. I was wondering if that could be fixed if it becomes an issue on the new site.

EDIT EDIT: Just wondering Arvin, what does "split summary at cursor" do when starting a new topic? I've seen it and I'm not sure what its for.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: I also noticed that when viewing a topic, it says "_ new posts" at the top, referring to new posts on the topic. When I click on it, it takes me to the new post, but it still says "_ new posts" at the top.

ok well as i just found out from my previous post, there is a limit to how long a post can be, which might hinder posting reviews under a topic. If you type too much on one response, then it just keeps typing off the screen. I'm pretty sure it will still show up, but you can not scroll down/over to view whatever is now off the response window. I'm not sure if this is an attempt to end spam or if its just the default setting for this website.

blue, the limit thing is actually a problem with the text box. I have fixed it now so it shouldn't be a problem. Also the new posts link on a thread is just an anchor. It won't go away until after you refresh the page.

Initially the notifications thing is going to be only through email for subscribing to favorites, but eventually I hope to integrate it into a facebook like notification system.

Also as I'm sure you noticed from this post, quotes are now working.

yeah i noticed that i can not delete topics that i have made. i need to delete one, and it is not possible. ps i also think it would be cool to be able to delete a comment in case of double posts.

delete your own comment of course

too bad only through email :( i hate checking email (i get too much junk)
