The Beatles: Rock Band 'Abbey Road' E3 booth in pictures

(click to '64 arrival size)
We're not gonna lie to you: we were pretty excited to walk into the MTV Games/Harmonix booth at E3. And not just because we're feeling pretty positive about the upcoming Liverpudlian-influenced game, The Beatles: Rock Band, but because of the beautiful booth setup made to look like the iconic Abbey Road Studios. Thankfully, we had our trusty camera on-hand and captured a slew of pictures of the outside (and inside, of course) of the booth, just for you. Kick your shoes off, get comfy, and calmly pore over our gallery -- won't you?

Pro skaters sound off in Tony Hawk Ride trailer

Sure, that new skateboard controller for Tony Hawk Ride looks rad, but what do the pro's think? Several professional skaters, including Christian Hosoi and Mr. Hawk himself, talk up the game and skate deck in this latest trailer using phrases like "the ultimate rush" while what looks like innocent bystanders explode. Seriously. There's some choice comments, though we think the best comes from Paul Rodriguez, who says simply, "If you've had an interest in skating, but maybe didn't want to put yourself in a position of getting injured, here's your chance." We've no desire to fall and straddle any railing at high speed, so this sounds right up our alley.

Miyamoto: Zelda Wii coming in 2010, at the earliest

Wondering where the in-development Zelda for Wii was at this morning's Nintendo E3 keynote? At an invite-only developers event with Shigeru Miyamoto, the revered designer confirmed that the title wouldn't see release until at least 2010. "We hope to bring it to you next year but it may take a little longer," he said through a translator. "To be honest, at E3 we wanted to announce a new Zelda game for Wii." Unfortunately, that desire didn't earn the title a spot in Nintendo's keynote and it was instead relegated to the developers event. He also said that the title could "possibly" be a Motion Plus exclusive - though if he's not sure, we don't know who would be. The "announcement" included artwork - we weren't allowed to take pictures of (sorry!) - which was Twilight Princess-esque, featuring Link and a female Zora character. Here's the bad news: the more astute amongst you may remember that Miyamoto took the opportunity at last year's E3 developer's event to reveal a new Pikmin title for Wii in development (not the Wiimake) and, almost a year and two major keynotes later, we've yet to hear about it again.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Tatsunoko vs Capcom gets online play, 5 new characters for North America [update]

Update: Capcom sent out a release the following day, redacting the mention of online play and five new characters. Did someone at Capcom jump the gun?The release of Tatsunoko vs Capcom in North America will change a bit from its Japanese counterpart, Capcom has announced. The North American release eliminates one character from the Tatsunoko side of the roster and adds five new fighters not found in the original game. Not only that, but the North American version of the game will also have online play, a feature the original Japanese release cannot boast.[Thanks, WiiNinja!]Permalink | Email this | Comments

Video: DJ Hero turntable and guitar gameplay

You might not believe it, but the Beastie Boys and the Foo Fighters go pretty well together. During a quick behind-closed-doors session with DJ Hero, we got to see the folks at FreeStyleGames rock out to a mix of "Sabotage" vs "Monkey Wrench." This particular two-player mode allows players to use both a guitar and the turntable peripheral, which is sure to make the pain of adopting yet another plastic instrument a little more bearable. Also, you can check out how the turntable actually controls. Watch and learn, kids, these guys are the pros.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Here's the back of the Tatsunoko vs Capcom T-shirt

When we caught our first glimpse of the I Am 8-bit shirt, we were on a mission to hunt down one of these shirts and get a glimpse at the back of it, and the wait has been worth it. Covered in a ridiculous amount of both gold glitter and Ken the Eagle, this shirt would be the pride and joy of anyone who owns it. Luckily, our own JC was able to defeat the mighty Seth at Capcom in a round of Tatsunoko vs Capcom, so we have one of these bad boys. Which, obviously, means one of you will soon own it, even though it pains us to the core to part with such an awesome piece of apparel.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Golden Sun DS trailer summons some excitement

Golden Sun is back after six years (the last time we saw a Golden Sun game was The Lost Age sequel), and this time it's on the DS system. We've got the first video, straight from the Nintendo keynote this morning, and you can watch it above.Looks good, no? It's gone more or less full 3D, but there's still the same exploring, summons, and (we're guessing) battle that appeared in the last few games. Camelot told us a while back that they'd love to play a Golden Sun DS game, and now that it's announced and we've seen this trailer, we can't help but agree.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Homebrew: This is what Patapon on DS looks like

Anyone who has heard of PSP knows of Patapon. It's one of the most popular titles on that platform and is quite a unique and engaging experience. But, what if you're a DS owner; how will you get in on the action? Well, seeing as Patapon is a first-party Sony title, you won't ever see it on DS ... not without the help of the homebrew community, anyhow.Apparently, someone called E-eragon is working on a DS version of Patapon, looking to upgrade the original title to include stylus controls. Tiny Cartridge discovered a clip of E-eragon's work (posted after the break), and though it doesn't look as smooth as the original, it is by far a rather good-looking copy. Check out the game before Sony slams the law book on this one.

New DSiware revealed: Prehistorik Man, Six in One Translator

Nintendo has cracked open the vault of upcoming titles due out later this year, and there's quite a few new titles mentioned for DSiWare. A few we already knew about (Gameloft's Uno and Hudson's Sudoku games were expected), but Prehistorik Man, published by Interplay, is an old SNES game (so Virtual Console we guess?), and there's a working title for a DSiWare game called Six in One Translator. Could you be translating between six different languages on your DSi sometime later this year? There are also quite a few "Domo" games planned -- we're guessing these are games that have to do with the popular Japanese Domo character, thoughThe full list of publishers, games, and expected release dates is after the break.
